Stephanie Mitelman has spent twenty-five years teaching sexuality education the way it should be taught: grounded in real relationships, and in real classrooms.
She is a certified sexuality educator, a Professor, an author, and a private educator for clients with neurodivergence and other special needs. She has been writing curriculum for the past twenty years, and has been training teachers since 2001.
In 1999, she started what would become SexEd Mart under the name Sexpressions. Over the years, she noticed sex ed wasn't reaching every student, so she built a dedicated line of adapted materials for learners with disabilities.
The guiding principle hasn't changed since day one: sexuality education is not about sex. It is about bodies, prevention, boundaries, healthy relationships, safety, and quality of life. Every resource in this site is built from that belief, academically accurate, classroom-tested, and adapted for students the mainstream curriculum leaves out. She believes that every student deserves to learn this information, and that every teacher deserves to teach it with comfort and confidence.
Today, alongside running SexEd Mart, Stephanie still teaches at the University level, continues to write curriculum, and maintains a private practice working with individuals with disabilities.
