This package of 4 lessons uses the SMART Board™ to inspire judgment-free conversations and personal reflection on bullying, cyberbullying, assault, consent, and healthy relationships. Using the activities, students will consider different ideas and scenarios and see how they fit with their own desires, values, and actions and those of their peers.
Love or Illusion SMART Board™ Classroom Activity
This activity gets students to consider what is assault or abuse in relationships by having them drag actions to “unhealthy” “healthy” or “it depends.” Built for discussion, the activity can be used as a class or in small groups.
Cool Scenes Technology SMART Board™ Classroom Activity
This activity introduces students to different scenarios and asks whether various perspectives on them are “cool” or “not cool.” This will promote a discussion on whether certain uses of technology are harmful or acceptable, including cases of potentially dangerous sexting, cyberbullying, or stalking. Can be used in small groups or as a class.
Cool Scenes Bullying SMART Board™ Classroom Activity
This activity asks students to decide if different perspectives on a scenario are “cool” or “not cool.” This will spark a discussion on whether certain actions are bullying. Can be used as a whole class or small group activity.
What are my Decisions? SMART Board™ Classroom Activity
Students will consider, solidify, and learn how to discuss what circumstances they would need to be comfortable with different intimate actions, letting them understand their limits in a safe environment and learn how to ask for and give consent. They will get a list of actions and situations and decide if they would, would possibly, or would not consent to an action if they were in a certain situation. They will also talk about their reasons and bring up possible consequences for their choices. Can be used as a whole class or small group activity.
